GREAT DAY OF SOCIAL ENJOYMENT

Happy group of members enjoying a BBQ Lunch at the Kate Hill cellars in Huonville

On Sunday 31 May 2015, Hobart Branch had a social outing with a 'Mystery Bus Tour' to the Huon Valley.  Deparrture from the RAAF Memorial Centre was at 10am with a stop for Morning Tea at Margate with a tour of the Channel Folk Museum.  A great BBQ Lunch was held at the Cellar / Vinyard of Kate Hill Wines at Huonville. Charles and Kate hosted a very succesful and enjoyable function, with, of course, some first class wines.

Some photos of the day are shown below.

MASTER CHEF
Gavin White was our Chef Supreme for the BBQ Lunch. It was an excellent fare and the members attending enjoyed the good food and the Kate Hill Wines that accompanied the meal.
SETTING UP
Pam Robertson and Syd McClymont set the Tables ready for Lunch. It was a fine dining affair with knives, forks, condiments, sauces and a superb Cheese and Strawberry Platter and all washed down with superb reds and whites

FACILITIES - MEMORIAL CENTRE

The RAAF Memorial Centre contains excellent member facilities.  There is a Bar that is stocked and controlled by Hobart Branch; a large Member's Lounge, which also serves as a Dining Area for the many dinners and luncheon held, a fully equipped Kitchen with a commercial Cooking Rangs plus  a Microwave Oven, and Crockery and Cutlery to serve up to 80 people.

Several of the photos above will give you an appreciation of our facility and the wonderful Air Force theme that is projected by our memorabilia. For details on hiring the Memorial Centre for your functions, see the section on 'the Memorial Centre" page  'Hire of RAAF Memorial Centre'.
